Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026. Smartrise is a service of AI Innovations Limited, Azikiwe Street, Dar es Salaam ("Smartrise", "we"). This policy explains how we handle personal data under Tanzania's Data Protection Act (PDPA).
What we collect
- Contact details you give us — name, email, phone — when you submit a request through this site, work with us, or correspond with us.
- Project details — building information, floor plans you choose to share, and the service history of installations we carry out.
- Technical data — IoT sensor readings from monitored systems (water flow, energy, uptime) and GPS location captured during site visits by our field team.
- Support records — messages and ticket history when you contact support via the portal, WhatsApp, SMS or phone.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and deliver contracted work (performance of a contract).
- To operate the monitoring systems installed at your premises and alert you to faults (performance of a contract / legitimate interest).
- To send marketing updates only where you opted in — every marketing channel is recorded in our consent ledger and you can withdraw at any time (consent).
- To keep the records Tanzanian law requires — licences, tax and audit documents (legal obligation).
Where your data lives
Records are kept in our operations system; documents and backups are stored on the company's external storage places (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Amazon S3 or the company NAS). Access is restricted to staff who need it, every access is logged, and raw sensor readings are automatically purged after 24 months.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that never become projects are automatically anonymized after 24 months. Records connected to delivered work (contracts, invoices, warranties) are kept for as long as Tanzanian law requires. Sensor readings older than two years are deleted; the monthly summaries remain.
Your rights
You can view, download or ask us to erase your personal data. Portal customers can do this instantly under My Data in the customer portal. Everyone else: email info@innovations.co.tz and we will respond within 30 days. You may also withdraw marketing consent at any time — every message we send includes how.
